Mt. Batulao

It's Valentine's Day! And what better thing to do during this special day than doing the one thing that you truly love?

Without thinking twice, I agreed to be part of another climb.
Where to? Mt. Batulao in Batangas, my first summit of the year. :)

With me are two friends and my favorite hiking buddy ;)  By 9am, we were at the foot of the mountain.

We did the hike from old trail to new trail with Lester, our little friend, as our guide. P20 is the registration fee for each trail. The guide fee, on the other hand, ranges from 300 to 400 pesos.

I didn't really have time to do research about how to go to Mt. Batulao. But thanks to Waze, it wasn't difficult to find the way to the mountain. It was only then that I learned na sa Caleruega lang pala! Haha, it was honestly a funny discovery. Naligaw pa kami, kaya tip lang, wag magmagaling kay Waze! :p

Mt. Batulao is one of the top mountains recommended for newbies. The weather was a bit gloomy in the beginning, there was some drizzle, but generally it was perfect for us. The mountain gave us lovely sceneries and the view was fantastic.

Having this kind of view once again, and with my favorite hiking buddy, made the day very special.

I wouldn't say it's easy but the trail wasn't that difficult in my opinion. However, if you would compare the old and the new trail in Batulao, the old one is more challenging.

And look, they serve halo halo at the peak :) What a pleasant partner for such a nice view, isn't it?

Meet the Batulao team, this is the first time that I went up a mountain with a small group but indeed we had a lot of fun up there.

Look who found us?! That's Kenneth and Ate Nelsie, friends from my previous climbs! They were doing a trilogy of Batulao, Pico and Talamitam and seeing them again up on the mountains was so much fun! Nakakamiss sila kasama and hopefully soon, I'll get to hike mountains with them again.

Batulao treated us with a fantastic view of the Batangas countryside from up high,
but t
hanks to this guy, he made the whole climb extra special. ;)
