Calatagan | Burot Beach

Among the beaches of Batangas, there is one in Calatagan which I had the most pleasant experience of visiting this first week of October, the Burot Beach.

One that I consider remarkable and special, this trip truly made my month!

Burot Beach was previously called as the Elizalde Beach (owned by the Elizaldes, an affluent family in the Philippines), but was recently bought by SM. Now, Burot Beach is a private property of SM Group of Companies, good news, it is still open for the public. I hope they would preserve the peace, beauty and tranquility of the place. So, if you're planning to visit Burot, make it soon!

Burot Beach is an undeveloped beach, it's  all about nature and going back to basics. No electricity, no establishments, and no posh accommodations. This time, it’s just you and Mother Nature.

The place can get very crowded during peak days or season (weekends and holidays especially Holy Week). The best time to explore this beach is on weekdays—a time when you can have the beach practically all to yourself.

The first thing that I learned about Burot Beach is that it's a favorite of many photography enthusiasts. 

Why? There is only one reason... the SUNSET. 

It was indeed one of the beautiful sunset I've seen.

Burot Beach is a nice beach for a quick escape from the hustle and bustle of the Metro. It’s a beach I would gladly recommend to anyone seeking to discover a new beach spot without the perks of resort amenities at an affordable price. I would love to go back here for an overnight beach camping.
