“More than Just Hot Air” – The Philippine International Balloon Festival 2014

Last year, the organizers of the annual (PIHABF) Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta announced the cancellation of this year's balloon festival. To continue the much awaiting annual event, the Department of Tourism decided to lead and to continue the tradition this year because many were disappointed with the cancellation of the annual event, with a theme "It's more than just hot air"

Finally another crossed out of my bucket list! (happy kid!) :D

Fortunately, and it’s great to be welcomed by a good condition of weather in Pampanga. A perfect blue sky with warm breeze is ideal for kite flying and balloon flight. We’ve seen balloons with different shapes and sizes that filled the open grounds

Witnessed a romantic proposal when the ice cream balloon took off as a banner unrolled "Will You Marry Me, Maria Ira" with raining petals!

This kid was with us at the front row. Looking so intently and was so amazed as the people started setting up the balloons.

Aside from hot air balloon, I got to witness yet another exciting flying event like paragliding.

In addition to flying balloons, the organizers have also set up a variety  of activities, including a balloon fight, night glow, kite flying, live bands, street dancing, cultural presentations, car show, bazaar, food festival and many more.

I had seen lots of photos before, but experiencing it was far more incredible than I would have imagined. There was something so childish about that morning, and that's what I loved most. To see many strangers huddled together in a field, cheering as each balloon launched, and everyone around you running around taking photos. Indeed, it was an awesome trip, everything at festival is worth seeing and experiencing. Since it was my first time to witness the event, it was an unforgettable experience.
